RUGGED COASTLINE ADVENTURE

This shorter tour highlights some of the best the bay has to offer!  

Start your day with a scenic 40-minute ferry ride through the Bay of Islands to the spectacular Otehei Bay, the gateway to an unforgettable kayaking adventure. 

Embark on a journey through the rugged beauty of the coastline of Poroporo Island, navigating through rocks and cliffs that guard hidden treasures. As you paddle, uncover the secrets of secluded bays offering pristine waters, natural wonders and serenity.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant marine ecosystem as you encounter the diverse local fish thriving beneath the surface and if the tide is right, have some fun as you venture into a small cave carved out over centuries.

With our sit on top kayaks, you have the freedom to easily transition from paddling to plunging for a swim or snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters.

This tour promises a blend of exploration, relaxation, and discovery amidst the untamed beauty of nature’s coastal wonders.

On our return to Otehei Bay we’ll stop and meet the local snapper, then, once we’re back on shore, take some time to unwind before preparing for your return ferry.

REQUIREMENTS

• Suitable for children of all ages*

• No experience required

• Low-Medium Fitness required

*Children under 5 must be able to fit a child’s life vest and will be seated in the middle of the kayak between two accompanying paddlers. The child must be able to sit upright unsupported. The child will not be required to paddle.

TOUR INCLUSIONS

• Return ferry from Paihia or Russell

• 1 ½ - 2 hours Guided Kayaking incl. snorkel time

• Sit-on-top Kayak with Seat

• Paddle, Life Vest & Dry bag

• Ferry departs Paihia at 11.30am (Russell 11.40am)

• Ferry departs Otehei Bay at 4.15pm or 5.45pm 

• Kayak Tour from 12.45pm - 2.45pm
